If there are scratches on the parquet floor?

Most of all, the wooden floor suffers from external influences: sand, pebbles, heels, – all this can very quickly turn your floor into disrepair. The best way to care for parquet floors is to prevent damage, but if minor scratches do appear, you can eliminate this defect yourself. To do this, you can use a special restoring paste, designed for cosmetic repair of parquet floors. Paste the spatula on the parquet, while the surplus material should be removed immediately. With deeper and numerous damages, the output is one: grinding and re-coating with varnish.

If the parquet changed color?

It should be noted that different wood species react differently to ultraviolet radiation. Regardless of the chosen coating (varnish or oil), the shade of wood will change slightly when the tree is fully ripe. The rate of maturation depends on the species of the tree, for example, cherry, darkens faster than the rest. To ensure that the floors do not change color, do not lay carpets on the floor for the first time after laying the parquet, if possible, protect from excess moisture and direct sunlight.

If the parquet laths are swollen?

Causes of swelling of parquet laths can be different: from high humidity to insufficiently wide gap between the dies. Moisture can accumulate under the lacquered surface, resulting in swelling. To avoid such problems, it is important to leave a sufficient gap initially. The end connections in the row should be shifted by about 50 cm.
